Kyle: This was mine and Lukes first escape room and the first room we'd done together as our group. We unfortunately were about 5-10 minutes late from memory and it made everything rushed which was at no fault of Escape Hunt by any means. It was a great introductory room that really got the creative and productive juices flowing. Basically set us on the path we are today. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Josh: A look back on where it all started for our little group. This was not my first Escape Room, but it was the true start of the passion. I had suggested doing an Escape Room to my ragtag group of friends in the past and like the typical best friends they replied "Why would I want to be locked in a room with you 3 idiots?!" My birthday was right around the corner and Simon being the good friend he is booked us in for my gift. There was no escaping it (Pun only somewhat intended) for the group, this was the ultimate guilt trip. Join me for my Birthday or else! The night came, Simon and I travelled in together with Luke and Kyle to meet us. They were late. Not a promising start to our career as Escape Artists. Once inside the room looked interesting, it felt a bit like being in a Harry Potter movie. Looking back with the benefit of hindsight, was it the most elaborately created room? No, but it certainly didn't disappoint. The boys had some great laughs along the way and we managed to escape, which is always a bonus when trying to sell someone on Escape Rooms for the first time. We started to really figure out what each of our strengths were which would become a common strategy for us in our rooms of the future together. Me being a teacher, I was the reader and thinker, Kyle was always good at the padlocks and thinking logically with me, Luke was good at thinking outside the box and doing the scary parts first while Simon was always good to laugh AT. I would recommend this room as a good beginner level room for anyone new to starting the hobby like we were.
Simon: This was also my first escape room I had ever done. My expectations were that it would be quite challenging. When I first walked into the room it was surreal. With the wizardry setting surrounding you, along with all the props felt incredible. A lot of the puzzles involve mechanical elements where clues would be unlocked or events events would occur as if through the use of magic! This blew my mind! As a first escape room it really challenged the group to think outside the box and read between lines, as well as remembering that sometimes the correct solution is the simplest. It was a fantastic way to be introduced to escape rooms.
