As far as our Escape Room adventure is concerned, that all kicked off on the 13th of August 2022 at Escape Hunt. But our story goes far deeper than that.
Joshua, Luke, Simon, and I have been friends for well over 15 years. Joshua had already dabbled in escape rooms with mutual friends and family, even persuading Simon to join him. However, despite his persistence, Luke and I remained sceptical, often joking about why we would pay to be locked in a room.
Josh and Simon became persistent, and in 2022 around May they had devised a plan to organise for Josh's birthday to book us in and use the Birthday excuse as a way to get us in. Luke has, and always seemingly will be a bit on the tougher side to get to commit to plans, so it wasn't really until a few months later we were able to nail down the 13th of August to go and try our luck at Escape Hunt.
Low and behold, after a bit of fluffing around from myself and Luke, we arrived about 10 minutes late. Josh and Simon where already deep into the room and we were fortunate enough to get in and join them on the adventure. From that moment, the experience gripped us all. The teamwork, the puzzles, leveraging each other's strengths, and the sense of camaraderie reignited the bonds of our long-standing friendship.
Since that memorable day, we've been hooked on escape rooms, and the journey has only strengthened our friendship. It's a story that practically writes itself—a testament to the power of shared experiences and the joy of discovery.
